Samples and quality control
See it, hold it,
then approve it.
Skipping the sample is the most common sourcing mistake. With us you approve a physical sample and your artwork before any production deposit.
How samples and checks work
- Written spec and quote. We confirm the spec with the factory and send a written quote: material, size, branding method, minimums, sample timing, lead time and an estimated landed cost into South Africa.
- Physical sample. You approve a physical sample, with your branding where practical. Hold it, check the welds, the finish and the packaging.
- Artwork proof. You sign off the artwork proof for your logo and packaging. Nothing is made before you approve.
- Production follow-up. We follow your order through production with the factory.
- Pre-shipment check. We check the order matches the approved sample before it ships.
- Written terms. Payment terms, inspection and what happens if something arrives wrong are set out in writing in your quote before you pay anything.
What to check on your sample
- Material matches the quote, for example 304 or 430 stainless steel.
- Size and weight match the spec sheet.
- Welds, edges and finish.
- Handle fit and feel.
- Logo placement and packaging against the approved artwork.
Custom shapes and sizes
Custom shapes and sizes are possible but are assessed separately, because they usually need tooling and extra samples. We start most retailers on a proven product instead.
Ask for a sample
Add products to your quote basket and say you want a sample first. Your quote gives sample timing before you commit to anything.
