CBM calculator.
Will it fit a container?
CBM means cubic metres. Sea freight is usually priced by volume, so knowing the CBM of your order early helps you compare quotes. Enter your carton size to estimate total volume and a best-case container fit.
Your carton
0.096 m³ per carton. 0.96 m³ for 10 cartons.
| Container | Cartons that fit, best case | Your cartons use |
|---|---|---|
| 20ft standard 590 × 235 × 239 cm inside | 225 | 5% (1 container) |
| 40ft standard 1203 × 235 × 239 cm inside | 500 | 2% (1 container) |
Estimate only. Best case assumes every carton sits the same way up with no pallets or gaps, and uses typical inside sizes for standard containers. Real loads fit fewer cartons, and weight limits, pallets and stacking rules apply. Confirm with your freight forwarder. This tool does not give shipping prices.
How it works
- CBM per carton is length × width × height in centimetres, divided by 1,000,000.
- Total CBM is that figure times the number of cartons.
- Container fit tries all six ways a carton can sit and keeps the best whole-carton count. It ignores pallets, gaps and weight limits.
