Baking and cooling racks
Cooling racks, stacking and folding racks, and seasonal shaped racks for homeware stores, bakeries and gift ranges.
Buying baking racks for your brand
Baking and cooling racks bridge BBQ and the home kitchen, which suits homeware, gift and seasonal ranges as well as BBQ stores.
This range covers stainless and non-stick racks in several sizes, folding and tiered racks, and shaped seasonal racks.
What to know before you buy
- These touch food. FSANZ Standard 3.2.3 binds your food business customers rather than you, but it is the best guide to a food-contact surface: easy to clean, non-absorbent and made of material that will not contaminate food. FSANZ lists copper and galvanised metal in contact with acidic foods as a contamination risk; our advice is to keep those surfaces away from food altogether.
- Non-stick racks have a coating on the food-contact surface. Ask what it is and for its food-contact paperwork, and check it at inspection for peeling or bare spots.
- Racks are flat and stack well, which can help keep freight volume down. Ask how they are packed and how many fit a carton.
Branding and packaging
- A printed sleeve or header card around a flat rack is a lower-cost option that works on a shelf or a hook.
- Seasonal shapes depend on timing. Work back from the season and allow for samples, production and sea freight.
- Retail stores will want a barcode on every pack, and major retailers set their own packaging and barcode requirements. Ask your retailer before you print.

What to check before you order
- Size against the trays your customers use, measured in millimetres including the feet.
- Finish: stainless, chrome plated or non-stick coated, and the food-contact paperwork for coatings.
- Grid gap: a tight grid holds small biscuits, a wider grid cools faster.
- Folding or stacking legs, which change carton size and freight cost.
Branding these products
Most baking racks can carry a laser etched logo, a branded tag or header card, or full retail packaging. Each option has its own minimum, which your quote sets out separately from the product minimum.
