Order timeline planner.
Work back from the shelf date.
Enter the day your stock must be ready to sell and your own lead time for each step. The planner works backwards and shows the latest date for each milestone, so you know when the order has to be placed.
Your dates
The day the stock must be ready to sell.
From deposit paid and artwork signed off to goods finished and packed, as your quote states it.
Booking the pre-shipment inspection, the report, and paying the balance before the goods are released.
From goods handed over at the factory or port to arrival at the Australian port, from your forwarder.
Port release, customs and biosecurity clearance, and unpacking at a depot for LCL, from your customs broker.
From cleared at the port or depot to your warehouse door.
Spare days for receiving, checking stock and slips anywhere along the way. 0 is allowed, but rarely wise.
Enter your target shelf date and all six lead times in days (0 of 6 entered). Use 0 for a step that does not apply.
A planning aid, not a promise. The dates are only as good as the lead times you enter, so use the figures from your own written quote, freight forwarder and customs broker, and add a buffer. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
How it works
- Each date is the shelf date minus the lead times that come after that milestone, in calendar days.
- There are no preset lead times. Use the figures in your own written quote, and ask your freight forwarder and customs broker for theirs.
- Sample approval and artwork sign-off come before the order date, so allow for them on top.
- Calendar days include weekends and public holidays, here and in China. If a supplier quotes working days, convert them first.
- A date marked as already passed means the shelf date does not work with those lead times. Move the shelf date, or find a step you can shorten.
